Chest workout and other stuff

Had a good chest workout. Maxed out at 195 on the bench press. I was a little shy after last weeks debacle where I needed to be rescued by a nearby high-schooler. 

I mixed in some abs and 30 burpees.

1/4 mile at 6:00/mile pace

10 curls with 30lb dumbells

1/4 mile at 6:00/mile pace

10 curls with 30lb dumbells

1/2 mile at 7:04/mile pace

10 curls with 25lb dumbells

1/2 mile cool down at 8:00/mile pace

Morning Basketball

The only reason I went was because the kids woke me up and I knew I wasn't getting back to sleep. I shot around for most of the time, which I need to do. When I did play, it was 2 on 2. Not a terrible morning but I don't feel well, that's for sure.

Morning Basketball and a Chest Workout

What an awful morning. I think I need to go to a summer basketball camp.

More athletic adventures this afternoon. I was bench pressing 205 and tried to do it 2 times and on my 2nd attempt I was failing. Luckily this high-school football player was right there and saved me. The rest of the workout was good, I was just humbled and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that.

Back and Biceps with some Running and push-ups

Good back and biceps workout. Then I did 60 squats with a 30lb dumbbell. 30 side lunges with 15lb Dumbbells. 

Finished up with 4 1/4 mile runs (sort of sprints) on the treadmill with 25 push-ups in between.

Morning Basketball.


So, my team was awful. all morning. Then the second to last game I was so fed up with my own performance I let out my frustrated primal man scream. No one cares. Maybe an eye roll.. The next (last) game, I had 3 shots one of which was an impossible layup. We won.

Morning Basketball AND a chest workout in the afternoon.

So glad I woke up. Seemed like I was actually awake. Had some decent up-close shots that went in and got a tons of steps and felt energized throughout.

Got to the gym later in the day while the kids went swimming. It was OK. Barely got up 205. Either way I was just happy to get in and lift a bit.

Started out with a great rhythm, solid shots. Last half, I got a new defender and he pretty much shut me down. But at least I got 7,000 steps outta the deal.

5 Miles

Was pretty cold starting out but I ran in a way so that the first mile was headwind and the rest was either coming at me from the side or behind me. The last mile was pretty tough but I was still pleased with it as a post-holiday run.

Treadmill Running - 1 hour

So tough for me. I feel like I barely made it an hour. 8 minute miles basically. Not happy about it really at all. Makes me want to get out...
